Closin' her down!

Before I wrote my last blog post I had "update blog" on my written to-do list for a week. Since when do I have to put blogging on my to-do list?

For some reason it has become a bit of a chore for me to blog, which really defeats the purpose. So I'm closin' up shop, shuttin' her down, haltin' the action. For awhile, or for forever...I dunno.

Just thought I'd let those that read this know so you don't go wondering as I plan to eventually close my blog as "private" and keep it around for Tristan to read someday (assuming the entire blogging world doesn't crash and all of our blogs slip into non-existance before then). I'll still read the blogs of my friends once in awhile, but I'm just not feeling motivated to be very active in the blogging world any longer.

My very first blog was on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 and it was all about becoming a mother. And so perhaps that is why I'm leaving my blog as well. Time. Mothering takes a bunch of time and even more since my baby is becoming an active on-the-go social little boy. My world truely revolves around him and as he gets busier so do I.

This picture was taken by Mr. Tristan - the very first picture he's taken himself (his Nana helped him center mommy in the frame, but they need to work on focusing obviously). Thought I'd post it because I noticed how "Mom" I look (I just look tired with my mom hair & unmatching outfit, caffine in that cup trying to keep up and do it's job!) vs. what I looked like when I compiled my very first blog (hair I spent time on, outfits that consisted of more than sweatsuits and pajama bottoms). Maybe I'll instead spend the time I would have been blogging plucking my eyebrows and painting my toe nails!

Take care fellow bloggers!

I'm sad to hear you're going to stop blogging....but I can completely relate. Blogging should be something you want it to do, not a chore you have to add to your to do list! I have felt that way many times, but I maintain my monthly post at least so I can remember each month what Diego was doing. I'm no good at documenting it any other way! Tristan took a cute pic of you!

I'll miss you, but yes, can totally relate as well. Have fun focusing your time and energy on little Tristan! We hope to get a Christmas update, perhaps? :)

It makes Nana sad, but I totally understand as well. Motherhood shifts our priorities and our lives into warp speed, aimed at being the best moms we can be. There is little time or motivation to do much else. But, my dearest daughter, NEVER forget to take time for yourself. It's VITAL to do so. I am so very proud of the kind of mother you are; Tristan is one blessed little boy. And, BTW, you are BEAUTIFUL, inside AND out, no matter what you are wearing or what your hair looks like. Don't ever forget that, either. I wish the world of blogging sites would create a link that would allow you to automatically turn your recorded journal into a "book" for "keepsaking" -- maybe some day. What you have here on your blog is a priceless jewel.

Hey! Thanks for your recent comment on my blog -- it was good to hear from you! I can totally relate to how you're feeling. As moms, we definitely go through different seasons and it's good to be realistic with yourself about what you can and can not do, or what things should be placed on top of the totem pole of priorities. I went through a six month period where blogging was the last thing on my mind and something I really didn't have time for at all...but now, I'm seeming to find a little extra time in the evenings and have found that I miss it and have the desire to post mundane, trivial things about our family again. :)

I say, wait it out. Leave your blog open, or "private" to those you only want to read it, and you never know when it will start to creep its way back up the totem pole. Sometimes we put things on our "to-do list" that we really want to do, but don't always have time for. I also found a site where you can print your blog into a nice album/book: http://blog2print.sharedbook.com/blogworld/printmyblog/cutestblog/index.html I'm sure there are other sites out there that offer this service too. I'm excited to make a book for each year and keep each them as a family journal of sorts.

I've also come to the conclusion that 1 post per month is sufficient...like briefly summing up what our kids did and special activities and memories...hint, hint. :) And if I can do 1 post per month, you can too! Ha ha...there's my unashamed, opiniated advice!!!
